Light and non-deformable, Prime and Spyd are made with carbon and technopolymers

After the previews at Eurobike and Interbike 2018, the new generation of the Repente saddles made its official debut at Cabda West. At the trade show that took place in San Diego on January 16 and 17 the Italian brand presented Prime and Spyd, two saddles produced with a mix of carbon and technopolymers that makes them non-deformableover time. Like the full carbon Aleena, Comptus and Kuma, the newly born saddles are entirely produced in Italy. They have an ergonomic shapeaimed at the maximum comfort, as well as a particularly cared for aesthetics. Primefeatures a wide anatomical cutoutand weighs 165 grams; Spyd(175 grams) is the option for those who prefer the central channel. The recommended price of both is196 euros. "The problem with plastic saddles is that the shell tends to bend, with consequences for comfort, the position and sometimes for the health of the cyclist– explains Massimo Farronato, CEO of Repente -. We avoided this drawback by using noble polymers suitably reinforced with carbon fibers. The frame is completely in unidirectional carbon T700, while the main base consists of Tepex, a carbon fibre fabric in a thermoplastic matrix. The structure offers an exceptionally high resistance, together with a very low weight. We got a saddle with features quite similar to a full carbon". The carbon and Tepex saddles also use the patented RLS systemfor the interchangeability of the covers, a technology introduced by Repente with the full carbon saddles. Prime and Spyd are part of the the equipment provided by Repente to the sponsored teams, like the Spanish professional team Caja Rural – RGA, Wnt Rotor and Bepink, just to name a few. After Cabda West, Repente will attend Cabda Midwest(Chicago, February 13-14), stand 622. It will be the spotlight for another Repente preview: a new seat for time trial and triathlon bicycles.
