For the second year in a row Caja Rural-Seguros RGA took the win in Circuito de Getxo thanks to the victory of Jon Aberasturi after an attack on the last slope. His mate Alex Aranburu, winner in 2018, was second. It is the second victory for basque rider in this season, and the fifth for the Spanish team equipped with the ultralight saddles of Selle Repente.

A first breakaway was always controlled by the strongest teams in the bunch. Only four riders remained, but were finally absorbed. In the hard uphill came Aberasturi's attack, that led him to a solo victory.

Jon Aberasturi: "It was a very crazy race but in the end it was worth the breakaway because we were taking Sergei, who is a strong runner. In the last uphill I did not think about it and I attacked, I could pass them and I could get there. The last meters have made me so long, but I have seen that I had distance and it was difficult to get caught. Also, Alex has made second so it is perfect. It was important to do well today, now important goals come and we hope to arrive in the best conditions to Vuelta a España ".
