The Portuguese rider from Efapel, on the Spyd 3.0, conquers the Volta ao Alentejo with maturity and tactical vision.
Tiago Antunes won the Volta ao Alentejo 2026, demonstrating great tactical intelligence. Well supported by his teammates, the star of team manager Josè Acevedo chose the right moment to strike and skillfully managed his yellow leader's jersey.
The masterpiece came in the queen stage towards Portalegre. Antunes read the race with clarity, limited the gap from the day's winner, and built a lead in the general classification that no one was able to close. In a race often marked by fragile balances, those seconds gained in the climb became an insurmountable wall.
The last stage, towards Évora, thus turned into a controlled parade. A compact team, no unnecessary risks, as is fitting for someone who already has the race in the bag.
But this success does not come by chance. Antunes comes from a season of constant growth, culminating in participation in last year's European and World Championships: experiences that, more than the results, have contributed to strengthening his awareness and ambition. In Alentejo, a mature rider was seen, less instinctive, more strategic.
Efapel celebrates and celebrates Repente. The orange team has chosen to use our saddles since its foundation. Tiago prefers the road bike saddle Spyd 3.0, with 100% carbon rails and a reinforced carbon shell, appreciated for its lightness and stiffness: a detail that, in the toughest stages, makes a difference.
His victory also breaks a symbolic fast for Portuguese cycling in the race, with a clear message: Antunes is a solid reality, ready to compete on ever bigger stages.
