RLS is the innovation that has most characterized the production of Repente since the early models. In fact, saddles with RLS are equipped with two shells. The structural base of the saddle and the rigid support of the padding are bound but independent and therefore can be replaced separately in case of damage, or if one decides to switch to another seat (there are various interchangeable models). Buy only the part you are interested in, halve the cost and the waste materials. But this is not the only great advantage of RLS technology.
The mechanical decoupling between the two shells, in addition to the anatomical shape of the seat, represents a fundamental factor of the comfort system developed by Repente. The two structural elements, joined together by three screws, work in a cohesive but unbound manner: this allows the saddle to filter the vibrations transmitted from the ground, improving riding comfort without sacrificing dynamic response. Thanks to the slight elastic play between the two overlapping structures, part of the mechanical energy transmitted by the frame is dissipated before reaching the cyclist. The final effect is a reduction in fatigue, without compromising the rigidity necessary for effective pedaling.
The careful design of the contact points ensures that no noise or creaking is generated. The system is silent and stable, even after many kilometers and under heavy stress.
The double shell offers additional advantages: on one hand, it increases the overall strength of the saddle, making it practically indestructible, while on the other hand, it maintains the degree of flexibility necessary to accommodate the natural movements of the cyclist and ensure optimal elastic response.
The result is a saddle capable of absorbing sudden shocks (the classic pothole not signaled by the cyclist ahead of you!) while simultaneously providing a remarkable rebound capacity, thanks to the thicknesses and geometries developed by Repente.
