Juri Zanotti is vice-world champion on Repente
Silver at the European Championships in Novi Sad and silver at the World Championships in Val di Sole: August 2021 will remain forever in Juri Zanotti's memories. The twenty-two year old rider of Ktm Protek Elettrosystem has put a prestigious silver medal around his neck in the mtb World championship in Trentino, closing the U23 cross country race in second place. It is the best result of the Italian national team, obtained - to our immense satisfaction - on a Repente Quasar CR saddle.
Chilean Martin Vidaurre has won the title. Zanotti started at second lap his ascent, conquering and then securing his second position at 1’03" from the winner.
“I've dreamed of this medal, I had been chasing it for a long time and finally now it is real, in front of my fans. It was my biggest goal of the season” Says Zanotti. "In March I turned out positive at Covid on the eve of the first race of the season, and I had to remain in confinement for 21 days. From there I spent a lot of difficult time, but I managed to get back at the top in this season finale. I have suffered, but now I think I have something more”.
“In the start of the race I didn't have great sensations and I lost some seconds. After a lap and a half I started to feel strong. Martin did a great race, but I am happy with my silver medal, I am happy with how I grew up. Next year the leap into the Elite category: I'm looking forward to it".
Repente also celebrates the fourth place of Marika Tovo (photo below) and the seventh of Giada Specia among the Under 23 women: they both use Prime 2.0 saddles.
Zanotti and Tovo are also European champions in the team relay race.
