Himalayan Highest Ladakh Mtb Race is the name of this unique international multi-stage MTB competition, which in past editions has included participants such as Gilberto Simoni, Marzio Deho, and Thomas Dietsch.
The next edition will take place from August 20th to 25th in Ladakh ("Little Tibet", India), covering a total distance of 510 kilometers. There will be six stages, with a total elevation gain of 9,000 meters.
The route never drops below 3,200 meters of altitude, with three passes to cross, all above 5,300 meters. It can effectively be considered the highest cycling race in the world.
Among the prizes reserved for the top three finishers in the various male and female categories will be Repente's ultralight carbon saddles Aleena, Comptus, and Kuma, featuring the patented MRF technology for interchangeable covers.
The characteristics of the route are truly unique. The sixth and last stage consists of the uphill time trial to Kardung La: with its 5602 meters of altitude, it is considered the highest motorable pass in the world.
Therefore, it's a competition not for everyone, attracting specialists from all over the world.
