It is Michele Pittacolo's 31st Italian title, and his first on a Repente saddle. The hi-tech saddle company based in Marostica has been a partner of the strong Friulian athlete since this year. In Francavilla, in the province of Chieti, he was crowned Italian Paralympic Champion 2018 in the individual time trial. On the bike he used, he mounted a Kuma model saddle in the chrono version, while on his road bikes he has Repente's Aleena and Comptus models.
Pittacolo, already world champion in 2011 and 2014 and bronze medalist at the London Paralympics in 2012, fought (and won) against his opponents and against pain in Francavilla. Two and a half months ago, at the Granfondo del Po, he suffered eight broken ribs, an injury that still makes its effects felt during intense efforts. Now Pittacolo is aiming straight for the main objective of this season, the world championship which will be held in August in Maniago, "at home".
