Successful expedition of Nesta Skoda and Repente at the Spanish cyclocross championships
The partnership between Repente and the UCI Nesta Skoda team continues with important confirmations at the top of the Spanish cyclocross scene.
Iván Feijoo (Prime saddle) arrived in Torrelavega determined to confirm his title and thus achieving his third consecutive. He made a good start and led the race from the first few meters. After the first lap the selection had already been made. Iván Feijoo and Jofre Cullell returned to offer, one more year, a head-to-head for the title. This is how the race went on till the fifth and last lap, when Feijoo took advantage of an error of his opponent to take his third sub23 gold in the Spanish Championship.
Iván Feijoo: “I am very happy to leave the category as Spanish champion. Now I just have to recover well and get ready for the World Championship, which will be a bit unusual with so much sand, but I hope to close the season well there”.
Lucía González (Latus M saddle) was the main favorite after winning the gold medal in Pontevedra in 2020. She distanced herself from the rest of her rivals since the beginning. From that moment on the race consisted of maintaining the advantage. Lucía González thus conquered the title of Spanish champion for the second consecutive year.
Lucía González: “There was a lot of mud and the track was very slippery. It was quite a complicated and technical circuit, so I am even more happy with the victory”.
To complete the successful week-end of Nesta Skoda and Repente, in the men's elite event Kevin Suárez (Prime saddle) got the silver medal. Same result for his brother Alain (Prime 2.0) in the junior category.
